Publishing and Listings

Title rules, condition descriptors, listing formats, actions, and matching unlinked listings.

Listing Titles and Rules

80-Character Limit: eBay enforces a strict maximum title length of 80 characters. FiveRowBox constructs standard titles (e.g. Year Set Player #Number Variation AUTO RC) and automatically truncates titles exceeding 80 characters to 77 characters plus ellipsis (...) to stay within limits.

Accurate Category Placement: Sports trading cards and collectible card games (TCG) map to standard eBay categories: Sports Trading Cards, Non-Sport Trading Cards, Pokémon Cards, Magic: The Gathering, and Yu-Gi-Oh Cards.

Condition Descriptors & Grades

Raw Cards: Graded vs. Ungraded descriptors. Raw conditions map to eBay standard condition descriptors: Near Mint or Better, Excellent, Very Good, and Poor.

Graded Cards: Requires Professional Grader (e.g. PSA, BGS, CGC, SGC), numeric Grade, and optional Certification Number.

Listing Formats

Good 'Til Cancelled (GTC): Fixed-price listings renew automatically every 30 days until the card sells or you end the listing.

Fixed Duration / 7-Day Auctions: Primarily used for Auction Lots and Virtual Lots. Auction lots run for 7 days with custom starting bids and reserves.

Actions: Update, End, and Relist

Update: Pushes local card modifications (such as revised asking price or updated title) directly to the live eBay listing.

End: Immediately cancels the active listing on eBay without deleting your local card record.

Relist: Re-activates an ended or unsold listing on eBay with your current local details and new listing ID.

"Not in collection" (Unlinked Listings)

What it means: Listings that exist on your connected eBay account but have not yet been matched to a card record in FiveRowBox (not in your collection).

Matching a listing: Go to eBay listings and filter by Not in collection. Click Link to card… on any listing row to open Match to a card in your collection to match it to an existing inventory card or create a new card record directly from the eBay listing photos and metadata.
